In Memory of Richard D. Zana
Richard Zana was born in Tarentum Pa. August 6 1940 and graduated in 1958 from Leechburg Highschool. He recieved his B.S. in music education in 1962 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his Masters degree in music education in 1964 from Duquense University. Mr Zana passed away in 2008 after a long battle with Cancer.
Richard Zana Taught music in the Ambridge Area School District for 38 years. During his years at Ambridge he taught Choir, Band and was the dynamic director of the Ambridge Steel Drums for the last 10 years of his carreer. The Steel Drum Band was founded by Sal Aloe and is still one of the schools strongest music programs today. Mr Zana retired from the district in 2000 but left a long legacy of inspired music students that carry in their hearts the love of music that their mentor/teacher instilled in them. Richard Zana was also a member of The Barbershop Chorus, The King Barber shoppers and sang in his own quartet.
Additionally Richard Zana taught and coached the Sweet Adelines.
In Memory of Nancy Zana
Nancy Zana was born 1938 in Johnstown Pennsylvania and Graduate from Forest Hills Highschool. She recieved her bachelor's degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania . Mrs. Zana passed away unexpectedly July 12, 2002 in her home. She was a teacher for SS Peter and Paul Catholic school in Beaver Pa. and a founding member of the Beaver Chapter of The Sweet Adelines.
